Dennis Keane, president
Dennis Keane is president of KOALD Design. Mr. Keane holds degrees in both mechanical and manufacturing engineering and studied business and accounting. His experience ranges from work as a tradesman in sheet metal fabrication to professional positions as mechanical engineer, project engineer and senior engineer. His work at companies involved in the manufacture of food-processing and packaging equipment, automation equipment, and at a corporation involved in automated consumer-goods manufacturing, equipped him with a unique and broad skill set, encompassing project management and engineering, design, manufacture, integration, installation and maintenance of automated equipment and systems.
His responsibilities included:
- Creating of automated food processing equipment for raw food products and bulk material handling including knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat load, thermal transfer and piping/pumping systems, structural engineering, power transmission and motion dynamics;
- Managing projects through engineering, manufacturing, construction and installation;
- Completing projects involving food automation and robotics integration handling dimensionally intolerant work pieces at high production rates requiring the execution of unique machines;
- Supervising installation and construction professionals to implement automated front- to end-of-line food manufacturing, robotic and packaging systems.
